Custom wooden wine racks in arched niche
Although many wine racks are placed in those special rooms, such as pantry or cellars, there are some wine racks are customized to be built into niches or between walls. The most significant feature is its arch. Comparing to the square niche, most of the arch niches are not easy to measure its radian, since the arches are not exactly parts of regular circles. To make the wine racks in arched niches look nice, usually there are two solutions: wrapping and not-wrapping.
Wrapping means there are panels covering all the wall around the niche, and there are additional trims to outline the whole rack. Considering most of the wine racks are composed by numbers of square cells. In some design, these square cells will go till the top of arch, even some of them are cut and not big enough for bottles. In some design, square cells will end in a certain height, and there are shelves above instead. And regularly the whole wine racks in arched niche are painted as a same color, make they are united and integrated.
Not-wrapping means the niche is not fulfilled with wine racks. Wine racks are only placed to the square part on the bottom, and it’s empty from where the arch begins. In this design, the empty part is usually designed to be a tasting table, or a place for glassware and ornaments.
